Ayurveda and Yoga are sister sciences first mentioned in the Vedas over 5000 years ago.  Both systems are based in five elements found in our universe, and are understood by the three energies knows as the doshas; Vata (Ether-Air) ~ Pitta (Fire-Water) ~ Kapha (Earth-Water)

March 16, 2019 – Ayurveda and Yoga –  Kapha Season  – 1:00 – 3:30 PM
As the seasons change from the cold, heavy and stagnant winter, we experience the time of increased Prana “life force” all around us as Mother Earth comes back to life all around us.

This is the time of Kapha, and you might experience possible sluggish digestion, spring colds, hay fever or allergies.

Thankfully, Ayurveda shows us simple holistic practices, which bring balance and harmony to the body, mind, and spirit.

During this workshop you will learn

  • The basics of Ayurveda
  • Home practices to bring harmony and balance
  • Cleansing herbal Spring tea
  • Some delicious ayurvedic foods
  • Aromatherapy practices
  • Self-massage benefits
  • Color and sound therapies
  • Spring yoga practice
This workshop is suitable for any level of student, and a workshop syllabus will be provided.
March 30, 2019 – Ayurveda and Spring Cooking with Love and Prana –  Kapha Season   -– 1:00 – 4:00 PM
  • Prana brings life to our bodies through our breath and is also associated with the energies found in the foods, herbs, spices, and beverages we ingest.
  • With Spring we experience a heightened abundance of prana all around as which can be seen at your local farmers market with lighter and more vibrant spring foods like green and fava beans, assorted peas, asparagus, leafy greens, etc.
  • During this cooking class we will discuss the foundation of holistic health and how the energetics of foods, spices, herbs and beverages we ingest affect our overall health and well being.
  • This will be a hands-on cooking class where all of us will participate in preparing a shared meal using local products and alternative protein sources.
This will be a hands-on menu where everyone will assist in preparing our shared meal.
