ELLIE GRACE
Sivananda 200 AYT, MA Yoga Studies
Ellie’s love of yoga and meditation began in her home city of London when she embarked on a life-changing series of courses with Battersea Yoga founder, Angus Ford-Robertson.
Formerly a chef and a writer, she trained in the Sivananda lineage and followed her love of somatics and psychology to include trauma-specific yoga; the medicinal benefits of Ayurvedic food, and yoga for social change, going on to complete additional trainings with Prison Yoga Project and Veterans Yoga Project.
Ellie teaches Hatha with elements of restorative, pranayama and deep relaxation, while enjoying a personal practice that balances vinyasa and yin. She is passionate about the effects of a regular yoga practice on stress reduction and emotional regulation and encourages her students to ‘meet themselves where they are’.
Ellie recently received her MA in Yoga Studies from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles where her research synthesised multidisciplinary perspectives on trauma, death and grief; the body’s intelligence, somatics and mental health; neuroscience, ecology, mysticism and spiritual growth. She is currently writing a memoir on yoga for grief.
