Sharon graduated from the Loyola Marymount University Yoga Therapy Rx and TRE® Los Angeles Certification programs. During her fourth year of study at LMU, Sharon was an Intern at the UCLA Simms/Mann Venice Family Clinic teaching yoga therapy one-on-one to the underserved in the chronic pain department. She continues to work at the clinic as the Senior Mentor for the current LMU students.
In addition to a private practice, Sharon teaches both yoga therapy and TRE® at psychological treatment centers, physical therapy offices and cancer centers throughout Los Angeles. Since her own experience with cancer she readily gives back by volunteering her time to teach a weekly therapeutic yoga class at The Cancer Support Community. She facilitates retreats and workshops for The Foundation for Living Beauty and leads meditations at the Susan G. Komen annual Metastatic breast cancer conference in Los Angeles.
Sharon is certified in the Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra and has completed the Level II iRest Yoga Nidra teacher training. She began her journey as a children and family yoga instructor and continues to teach preschool – high school age children. Sharon is also a Y4C (yoga for cancer), Aqua Kriya yoga, mini yogis® Certified Yoga Teacher and has completed trainings in Yoga Education for Autism Spectrum as well as Yoga Therapy for Kids. Sharon is a member of The International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) who in 2016 created a credentialing who in 2016 created a credentialing program to recognize those who are pioneers in this growing field and are key components to a holistic approach to integrative health. Her personal experience with breast cancer in 2011 set her on this new path in life as a Yoga Therapist. She is forever grateful as she has found that this work brings new meaning to her life each and every day.
