iRest® Meditation is moving to a new time starting Thursday, December 1st!

We will meet from 8 - 8:45 AM - allowing time in between for the 9:00 AM asana class.

Why meditate before yoga?

Meditation is one of the more subtle of the 8 limbs of Yoga and is often done after asana to prepare the body to sit in stillness. We can also use the practice of Intention, Inner Resource and Body & Breath Sensing, key components of iRest®, to set the tone and gather our attention for our yoga asana practice. A morning meditation allows us to gently move from a sleep state of Awareness to a more alert, attentive and wakeful state of Awareness that supports our capacity to welcome what the day brings. Gentle, body sensing movement (can be done in a chair) may be periodically included as part of the practice.

We meet one Sunday every other month to come together in meditation.

Teri Roseman, C-IAYT, YTRx-800C, POLY-500, E-RYT-500, BA, executive director and founder, of LiveYoga Wellness, received her BA from the California Institute of Integral Studies, and is a graduate of the Yoga Therapy Rx programs at Loyola Marymount University (LMU). Her approach to teaching and therapy is rooted by a deep belief in the healing power of yoga and meditation. In addition to hosting and facilitating workshops and seminars, Teri works one-on-one with clients, develops and teaches group and corporate programs. Teri has been incorporating essential oils into her yoga practice and general health and wellness regime for over a decade. And has transformed her suburban neighborhood front and backyard into a xeriscape/edible oasis to live within, where she resides with her dog, Isabella “Izzi”.
