DEANNA COURTNEY
C-IAYT, RYT 500, POLY-500
Yoga has been a regular part of Deanna’s life since taking her first class at the local YMCA in the early 90’s, leading to over 25 years of practice in a wide range of styles and studios. After facing a cancer diagnosis in 2009, her yoga practice became a key element in the healing process, both physically and emotionally. Curious about the profound benefits yoga offered during her recovery, she enrolled in the Yoga & Healing Sciences Teacher Training Program at Loyola Marymount University to better understand the therapeutic effects that yoga has to offer. That course began her journey into the study of Yoga Therapy. She is a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher, certified in Prime of Life Yoga®, and has completed the Advanced Yoga Therapy Course at LMU. Ongoing studies continue to focus on yoga’s ability to counter the effects of stress on our body. Her passion lies in bringing the calming and restorative gifts of yoga to anyone seeking wellness, regardless of physical condition, age, or flexibility.
