Mary Ann Bell
Operations Director
Mary Ann and her husband were first introduced to yoga in 1995 at the Center for Yoga in Los Angeles. They enjoyed the experience and began a practice that felt good and relieved stress from their fast paced executive careers. Inspired, they continued to practice both at Center for Yoga and Yoga House in Pasadena with their teacher Susan Swan, which led them to several weeklong workshops with Thomas Fortel at Esalen Institute.
Having moved to Westchester, Mary Ann found a home and sanctuary at LiveYoga Wellness when the studio opened in 2010 coinciding with her retirement as a non-profit executive. She made new friends and benefited in many ways, physically and emotionally. She joined the LiveYoga Wellness staff shortly thereafter, and as part of the management team is responsible for marketing, student records, and day-to-day administration of studio activities. On any given day you can find Mary Ann practicing in one of the therapeutic, gentle, and all level classes, or at one of our many workshops including Pranayama, Guided Meditation, Ayurveda, Women’s Health and Yoga Nidra. In her words, “I have broadened and deepened my understanding and appreciation of yoga, and of what yoga offers. LiveYoga Wellness is truly a jewel in our community.”
Carol Garvey
Financial Director
Carol Garvey began practicing yoga shortly before Teri Roseman founded LiveYoga Wellness in 2010. As the LiveYoga Wellness Finance Director, she oversees the fiscal operations of the company and is part of the management team. Although beginning her practice in her 60’s, Carol credits yoga with improved health in many areas: relief of lower back pain and stiffness; greater flexibility, upper body strength and balance; ability to heal from injury and illness more quickly; better stress management and improved quality of sleep. She has learned that yoga is so much more than exercise! It’s a holistic way of approaching one’s health, using resources that we all possess within ourselves.
