National Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month viewed through the lens of Vishuda/Throat Chakra and Pranayama
The principle of Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda Therapy is to maintain or restore body’s systems to their normal and efficient functioning by increasing the immunity of the body and strengthening different organs.
Pranayama helps to achieve this by:

• Oxygenating the blood
• Exercising the internal organs
• Excreting good hormones and strengthening the nervous system

Pranayama also helps to balance the 5 elements in the body, there by balancing the three doshas of the body. Practice of Pranayama also balances the Panch Pranas (Five main vayus) and Panch Up Pranas (Five sub vayus). The great Krishnamacharya stated that Pranayama is a great healing tool and becomes even more important in the 2nd half of life. Pranayama is a great yoga therapy technique that can be practiced by people of all ages, healthy as well as ill.

In this workshop you will learn:
• Origin of pranayama
• Pranayama Kosha – Panchamaya Model
• Review of many pranayama techniques
• Practical guide to practice
• Applications of pranayama for yoga teachers and yoga therapists
Attendees should come with an empty stomach and bring a mat and a blanket.
